Instructions for voting in the Classification Society election
This year elections are being held for two offices:
- President-Elect (one candidate, one to be elected)
- Board of Directors (three candidates, three to be elected)
The election will be conducted via the web, and you have until
June 30, 2014 to complete the online ballot. The Classification Society
uses a variant of the Hare system for electing officers, as described
in the bylaws linked from the main web page. Please follow these steps
for participating in the election:
- Review these candidate names and statements:
- For President-Elect: Herbie Lee, University of California, Santa Cruz
- For Board of Directors: Abby Flynt, Bucknell University
- For Board of Directors: Stephen L. France, University of Wisconsin Milwaukee
- For Board of Directors: Paul McNicholas, University of Guelph
- Connect to the
online
ballot page.
- Enter your name and email address in the identification
section of the ballot. The email address you provide will be checked
against the current membership list, and will be used to generate an
automatic email message to you confirming that your votes have been
recorded.
- Vote for one or more candidates in each election by
selecting the check box or rank next to the candidate's name.
- After reviewing your votes, submit the form data by
pressing the submit button. An email message confirming the record of
your votes will be generated and sent immediately. The attached copy
of your ballot will list your choices for each candidate you
selected. Candidates you did not select will not appear.
If you have concerns about your ballot, please contact Dave Dubin
(ddubin@illinois.edu). Include the ballot ID number if you have one.
