Visitors arrving at O'Hare from overseas should expect that customs and baggage claim may take 90 minutes or longer. Once you've picked up your bags, there are several ground transportation options:
Your hotel may provide shuttle service to and from the airport. There is usually a charge, but it's likely to be less than the general shuttle services, and much less than a taxi ride.

Getting to the conference. The conference is located on the main campus of the Illinois Institute of Technology. The campus is served by both the Red Line (Sox/35th station) and the Green Line (Bronzeville/IIT station) General directions to the IIT campus can be retrieved from the IIT website. Key conference locations are marked on the map below. Conference headquarters will be the Crown Room of the Hermann Union Building, located at 3241 S. Federal Street. Chicago, IL 60616.

The Hermann Union Building is located at 3241 S. Federal Street. Chicago, IL 60616. Phone: 312-567-3707. The door on the northeast side of the building is wheelchair accessible.
Crown Room, Hermann Union Building: located in the southeast section of the HUB Dimensions: 23X21(feet) Capacity: 20
Alumni Lounge, HUB: located in the southwest corner of the HUB. Dimensions: 50X27(feet) Capacity: 50
HUB Lobby: an open public space connecting the southeast and southwest entrance to the building. It is located between the auditorium and the ballroom Dimensions: 43X191 (feet)
HUB Auditorium: located in the center portion of the building. It has theater style seating. Dimensions: 112X87 (feet) Capacity: 850
HUB Ballroom: located in the south section of the building Dimensions: 50X100(feet) Capacity: 300.
Armour Dining Room: located on the lower level of HUB.
McCormick Tribune Campus Center (MTCC) is located at 3201 S. State Street, Chicago, IL 60616. Phone: 312-567-3700. The MTCC is wheelchair accessible from all major walk-ways. The MTCC auditorium located in the southwest part of the building. It has theatre style seating. Capacity: 165
IIT Dormitories. State Street Village (SSV) is located at 3303 South State Street, Chicago, IL 60616. The phone number of the Summer Conference Housing Office is 312-808-6403. That office is located south of MTCC on State Street. The doors to the dormitories are wheelchair accessible, and the facility features elevators. The summer staff will be available for check-in July 13th and 14th, 2004 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in the lobby of the north pavilion. Getting to the Navy Pier. Bus #29 goes directly to the Navy Pier, with stops on State Street by the dorms and the McCormick Tribune campus center. There are free trollies from downtown. Downtown to the NAvy Pier is a short taxi ride.
